To keep your capo in optimal condition you should keep the capo in the pouch when not in use. You don’t want the lands on the bottom of the capo to get scratched up.
keep the capo clean, especially the top slot. You don’t want anything to get under the wedge adjuster. No liquids of any kind, dirt or lint.
When installing the capo do not squeeze the wedge adjuster to tight. It will prematurely wear out the tubing.
Make sure the tubing is pressed tight against the center post.
The tubing will eventually wear out. You will begin to see deep indentions where the strings are pressing against it.
The tubing I use is Tygon gas line tubing. It is 1/8th inch inside diameter by 1/4 inch outside diameter. It can be found on Ebay ,Amazon, auto parts stores or small engine shops.
